Christine Watson Chartered Marketer Digital Marketing and Customer Service Skills Trainer Northern Ireland

In the days between Christmas and the New Year many individuals across Northern Ireland are off work twiddling their thumbs one may say (not in all cases of course). Many have forgotten what day of the week it actually is. Many embark on the treasured sofa surfing pyjama days re-watching movies from years gone by, nibbling on leftovers – of the chocolate as well as the turkey variety. Whilst many others seek out the opening times of the nearest dump and count down to the time when it is acceptable to hide away all the Christmas decorations.

During these festive times many ponder their lives, their achievements to date and their goals for the year ahead.

January is not known to be a Merry month, New Year’s Eve celebrations and the cost of Christmas hang over the annual act of making New Year’s Resolutions that are unlikely to ever be realised. So we, at TrainingMatchmaker.com, thought we would share our New Year’s Resolution with you all. Apparently by sharing your goals with your peers or followers you might just be more likely to keep to the journey needed… So centred around a starting line of 1 January – the date of the “New Years Resolution” and in consideration of “Blue Monday” (a name given to a day in January claimed to be the most depressing day of the year) when the dreaded post Christmas credit card bill arrives in the post, we have hatched a plan.

The Plan:

A brand new Campaign by TrainingMatchmaker.com to encourage and support individuals to learn one new thing every day over the course of one month: January.

Entitled #LearnuaryNI the campaign seeks participants, including I, Christine – the founder of TrainingMatchmaker.com, to share on our respective social media channels the 1 thing that we have newly learnt each day using the hashtag #LearnuaryNI.

Learning is proven to have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing and is one of five things you are encouraged to do by many mental health charities in order to take care of your own happiness.

To ‘inspire learning’ we’ve committed ourselves to compiling various TrainingMatchmaker.com/LearnuaryNI challenge blogs and Pinterest Boards to highlight the many learning opportunities available for everyone and anyone to complete within the month of January.

We hope that #LearnuaryNI challengers will compile their own individual learning objectives and solutions and would love to hear of #LearnuaryNI participants ‘pinning’ together a #LearnuaryNI Pinterest Board or simply making a list and checking it twice.

We really don’t want #LearnuaryNI to be thrown away like many a New Year’s Resolution often is so we plan to assist individuals to remain on their #LearnuaryNI quest throughout the month by sharing countless learning opportunities across a range of disciplines. From business and arts to sports, languages, history, IT, science, nutrition, mental health and more.

We hope to see people from all walks of life participating in the #LearnuaryNI challenge, from business owners, entrepreneurs and employees to the retired, unemployed, volunteers, carers of all ages and all backgrounds.

We also hope that the #LearnuaryNI campaign will find Learning Ambassadors and Influencers to showcase their daily examples in order to inspire their respective audiences to learn something new every day alongside them.

So if you want to officially graduate from #LearnuaryNI with us do take a little time  to share on your chosen social media channel eg. facebook, instagram, twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn or Google+ one learning for 31 consecutive days in January 2018 and submit a brief reflective statement by email to TrainingMatchmaker.com before midnight on 14 February 2018.

Will you be joining us on a #LearnuaryNI journey this January? Please do let us know by using the hashtag #LearnuaryNI in your posts on facebook, instagram, linkedin, google+ or on Twitter. We’ll be showcasing #LearnuaryNI participant Pinterest boards throughout the month of January.

Learning Providers can add their Training Courses to TrainingMatchmaker.com

#LearnuaryNI challengers will find us talking about #LearnuaryNI on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. For now, we are off to compile our first #LearnuaryNI Pinterest board!
