Libraries NI 6-Week Blogging Course Kicks Off At Lisburn Library
A number of bloggers and aspiring bloggers from across Northern Ireland will be kick starting a new 6-week blogging course at Lisburn City Library tonight (Thursday 1st November). The course comes hot on the heels of Libraries NI’s first ever Blogging Inspiration Session at Ormeau Road Library, Belfast last month where ten established bloggers revealed the secrets of their success.
Presented by TrainingMatchmaker.com the course Get Blogging is a free six week evening course where a team of trainers supported by local active bloggers will teach course participants not just what they need to know but provide real time examples of successful blogging practices and guide attendees through which tools are currently available to aid in the running and development of their blog as well as being on hand to offer practical help and support throughout the duration of the course.
The course modules includes everything from what is blogging, how to get started and creating, marketing and distributing content as well as looking at everything from building audiences, readership and engagement to commercialising, monetising, legals and ethics, measuring success and the cost of blogging itself.
Chartered Marketer Christine Watson, founder of TrainingMatchmaker.com, said there has been a fantastic response to the series of events.
She added: “In Northern Ireland there is a thirst for knowledge and a real talent for sharing and telling stories.
“Blogging, vlogging and podcasting are the latest ways we can show the world what we experience, what we love and enable every one of us to use our words, pictures, videos and voice to inspire others.”
Paul Kelly, Senior Information & Learning Services Manager at Libraries NI added: “Libraries NI is pleased to offer this free Get Blogging course to develop participant’s blogging skills. Storytelling is forever evolving and blogging, vlogging and podcasting is quickly becoming the new platform for telling stories.
“Whether you’re blogging for business, documenting your family history or keeping a record of travelling expeditions, you’re using the power of words to tell a story.”
